Time to start thinking about Field Day 2014 which is being held this year June 28th-29th. Field Day is always the fourth full weekend of June, beginning at 1800 UTC Saturday and running through 2059 UTC Sunday. Big Brutus is a great location for radio and last year there were a lot of visitors in and out of the attraction during the day. Plus a few coyotes in the evening so plan on staying up with the moon!
One thing that I think would be helpful, is a banner of some type to let the people know who we are. Encourage them to stop over and see what we are up to! I can throw something together in photoshop and if someone knows of a place to get one printed we could get an estimate and maybe take donations? I was thinking that it should not be specific to Field Day so we can use it at other possible events around town.
Another related topic is the move to become an affiliate club the ARRL. It would be great for the club as the ARRL.org is used by new and old hams to find activities and clubs near them. If anyone has any suggestions, thoughts or ideas about the club or about Field Day please email them to me or come to the meeting on January 25th so we can begin to solidify some plans and move on this.
